BBL Photofacials are a specific type of photofacial that have been shown in studies to effectively slow down the aging process, while at the same time removing sunspots and broken blood vessels significantly improving the skin’s overall tone and health. It also helps tremendously with rosacea and acne! It is our most popular non-injectable procedure, and the satisfaction rate for our patients is sky high. Both Dr. Austin and Dr. Reddick get one done every three months—it’s the cornerstone of their anti-aging regimen!
The only patient who may not be an ideal candidate for BBLs is one who struggles with active melasma. Everyone, and we mean EVERYONE else can benefit from BBLs. Even if you don’t have visible sun damage, keeping up with BBLs 2-4 times a year will turn on youthful genes and turn off genes associated with aging. Additionally, there is virtually no downtime! Your very first BBL will cause dark spots to darken for 7-10 days before they fall off, but this is easily covered with make-up.
Our recommendation for first timers or those who have not been keeping up with photofacials is a series of (3) treatments, (4) weeks apart, after which you enter a maintenance phase with (1) every quarter.
You cannot have any sunless spray tan, tanning lotion, or recent sun exposure where you developed any darkening of your skin prior to a BBL. We recommend no intense sun exposure 2 weeks before or 2 weeks after.
Don’t forget to add your neck & chest- we can treat any sun exposed area!
